The Hundred.. a game never to be once played anywhere else by anyone else, so indisputably a real investment for a buyer looking to speak to a global market with real growth potential, and there isn’t much competition in cricket to spend it elsewhere.. Righto where do I put my £100m, just on the desk here?

And what’s that you say, no Indian players likely to play often or even ever? Sod it, I’ll take a punt

My last comment on the Hundred sale before I stop grubbing up your feed - is there no mention in the brochure that the format will switch to T20 in so many years time? Or is that just saved for the private facetime convos after the NDAs are inked?

Crazy days then Gideon. So sad to see Richards and Botham co-opted in and standing behind that Perspex box of dollars at Lord’s. Giles Clarke, no surprise. Looking back and the picture and film, you couldn’t make it up. But here we are. Greg James recorded a brilliant pod series on it - for those that can access - https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/series/p09wqmpd?partner=uk.co.bbc&origin=share-mobile

The photo of MV is intriguing. Presumably the ground is in India yet not a single soul in the background.

Is that the tricolour of The Yarras, Gideon? Teal, wattle & navy blue?

I sort of understand the white, wide-brimmed hat - a superior form of sun protection, although on the few occasions I wore one, it used to fall off a lot. What I never understood was that other 70s fashion statement - the white terry towelling hat. It looked silly and was so small it provided less sun protection than a cap. Why was it so popular?

Cheap and easily washable.
