A quality of Test matches is that they lead to definitive and sweeping judgements - which testifies to our faith in them as expressions of competing cricket skill, for we would not feel the same way about an ODI or a T20I. But one-all seems about right for two closely-matched teams. Ten Tests now remain in this World Test Championship cycle. South Africa has crept past on the inside, while both Australia and India need two wins from the rest of the series - and two plus two will not go into three. Good times.
