Hello Gideon, now that you are flush with subscribers, to avoid further “Shit Box” accommodation episodes, perhaps you should marginally increase your budget per night? Or perhaps they are good material for your 10 Things updates.
Thanks for the road trip piece Gideon. That dog on the tuckerbox, pretty underwhelming but the Bradman Oval and museum well worth the effort. I will add the pen museum to my next jaunt out that way!!!
The Holbrook motel lawn furniture is the same model as that which graced 26 Clarke Street Bendigo’s back yard. ( An address known to keen et aliers.) Tilted to 45 degrees with a couple of house bricks, it made a very serviceable slips cradle.
Delighted to hear the tank stand is still there - what an icon - loved that old state school classroom - did they have any copies of the School Paper? - we used to have an Inkwell Monitor who had the grave responsibility of filling up the emptying wells -specially after they had been dipped in by a nearby plait
I visited 52 Shepherd as a young kid, and went straight for the water tank. Just found this ripping footage of The Don's old practise routines there - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9o6vTXgYdqA
Talking of penmanship, today’s SMH has an article about the T20 WC with the headline, Out of left field, and in another, Waugh the Elder implores the selectors to step up to the plate. Aargh … or is it just me?
Thanks for sharing your road trip north to Sydney Gideon. Curious to know if the "live pod" from Five Dock will be streamed for us to watch or listen to?
“delirious riot of steel nibs” Thankyou for new LP title GH.
Rights and property will be discussed in Room 13. His nibs. x
Love your road trips Gideon!

I was thinking the same thing especially as some are paying the Craig Sargeant rate!
I never count on good times lasting....
Ha ha. I stayed in that very motel in September. I remember the painted white breeze blocks. Slept OK I guess …
Can highly recommend the pub and bakery at Tarcutta.
You obviously didn't have the bed of nails.

I too love your Road Trips
Gideon, your road trips deserve a different (bigger?) platform.
YouTube, Instagram or even TikTok.
Maybe something like this……?

Have you considered a campervan? TheShitBox on Wheels.
A swag and sleep beside the car at the caravan park, not too far from the ablutions hopefully.
Bredbo Inn. Humpty Doo RV Park. Mungo Brush. Wee Jasper.
All happy hunting grounds

Brilliant, isn't it? Tankstand still there.
I enjoyed the road trip… thanks for the experience. And good luck in FiveDock!

Let's hope Usman makes a home run.
Actually, sorry…I meant Jugiong. What’s that song Paul Kelly sings about places looking the same?
Funnily enough we thought of staying at Jugiong. I'll consider myself warned.
Great read as always Gid. Nice to hear about travels as I’m still stuck at home in recovery mode Comrade. Love the Captaincy letter! Cheers Slim

Better ask Pete, he's in charge in Sydney!
Are you serious?
I've left it all in his capable hands. I've actually only just rolled in. Our producer will be there, so there'll be a recording - maybe not video.
