2027: The Year Everything Happens

Cricket Australia yesterday issued a press release, and squeezed a little content from the ever-obliging Scott Boland, marking 100 days to the First Test in the Perth of the 2025-26 Ashes. You hardly needed to know it, but, hell, why not? A little anticipation whets the appetite. But for once, we do know who’s coming this summer and why, which is a pleasant change.

Sometimes, however, the challenge is to look around the next corner but one. So it might be worth drawing readers’ attention to what’s shaping up for a year hence, as events converge on 2027 - which hereinafter, with a nod to Lenin, I’ll refer to as The Year Everything Happens (TYEH).
