Not sure why you'd drop the 30 year old and keep the 38 year old? Konstas in, Khawaja out I would have thought. Uzzie will be 39 before we face Blighty this summer - and he's looking distinctly uncomfortable against the Quicks...
If the selectors are serious about rejuvenating the team then Konstas and Inglis should come in for the WI. The former for Labuschagne and the latter for Smith (if he can’t bat). They could give Labuschagne one more chance for the injured Smith but that wouldn’t solve anything.
And well done to South Africa for a fabulous well deserved win.
(Cont) he scored 39 and gee they’d look slow in the field without him. Can’t believe I’m saying it but I’d be keeping him in, tapping Ussie on the shoulder and sending Green away to earn his spot.
I don't think we have to throw the entire order out off the back of one - admittedly shocking - match with the bat. Throw Konstas in to open with Uzzie, Marnus and Green drop down one spot each, Head at 5, Webster at 6, Carey 7, then your four best bowlers for conditions. See how it looks.
Great to see you and Gideon on Offsiders, ABC, 15 June.
Time for a big re-think on the Top Six.
I hope we use the West Indies tour to pick and stick with a settled batting line-up for The Ashes.
My first gig outside Et Al since I was “cancelled”!

1. Usman/Marnus - neither looks really viable atm but who else is ready?
2. Sam - deserves the same opportunities others have been afforded in recent times, a difference maker perhaps
3. Steve/Josh - injury an issue for Smudge but I can see him easily settling in here for the Ashes
4. Cam - I’m a believer
5. Travis - a difference maker will be punishing on England’s bowlers
6. Beau/Josh - a bat off perhaps once Smith returns from injury

If they're talking about looking forward two years, surely your 38 year old opener is in jeopardy.
Against a reasonable pace attack I'd take Marnus over Uzzie at this point. At least Marnus looks like he can get 20 or 30.
I thought Marnus looked far better than Ussie and Green. Of the 49 or so the 3 scored for the test
