Josh Hazlewood is out of the second Test in Adelaide with a “slight” sidestrain.
It is bad news for an Australian side under pressure after a poor display in the first game.
Hazlewood took 5-8 when Australian routed India in the last pink ball Test in Adelaide and is a critical member of the bowling group.
His absence compounds concerns about Mitch Marsh’s fitness, with the Australian team acknowledging there is a question mark over whether he will bowl in the second Test. The all-rounder who carries a chronic ankle issue was widely criticised for delivering a slow spell as India’s raced away with the match in Perth.
