I’ve nearly finished your wonderful book on Wallace thank you Gideon- it has left me emotionally quite wrung out - I wonder how it has effected you delving into Health records records of shock treatment - awful physical conditions we readers remain eternally grateful for your diligence & respect to mr Wallace
I was 8 years old - we lived in Enfield in North East London in 1977, and went to the Lords test (my second ever test coming off the back of the Centenary Test) and Craig Serjeant top scored with 81 if my memory serves me correctly. He was my hero until Allan Border emerged shortly thereafter.
Growing up,apart from putting masking tape around my bat to look like Hookesy , I idolised Geoff ‘Scatters’ Attenborough, a left handed medium pacer for South Australia, considered by some unlucky not to receive higher honours!
Craig Serjeant and Graeme Wood, two great West Australians ….
haha, yes, Graeme Wood was in my mind too as GH invoked our childhood faves

Good choice, Tim. I never moved on to AB....
CSD is a great time to reflect on just how much this website and pod has impacted on me.
The authenticity of Gideon and Pete are real hallmarks in a media landscape that is often difficult to stay across.
Looking forward to many more great adventures.
I had a girlfriend at school who deeply admired Graeme Hole & breathlessly watched his every brief innings at the MCG
An underestimated cricketer, Jan!

Great call. Rob O'Shannassy, who follows you in the comments here, will attest the excellence of Scatters.
Fellow first-class cricketers and former pharmacists - Ian Craig, Daniel Vettori - any others?
Xenophon Balaskas was one. So is Maxy's wife Vini.
