Happy New Year and well done on getting through the last one.

Cricket Et Al subscribers received 450 posts in the 2025 calendar year, and according to my rough count, listeners were bombarded with 79 podcasts from us across that same 12-month period. Australia played 11 Tests in the year, and Et Al was there for all 11 (the same cannot be said for the majority of the players).

Thanks to all the OG’s for being subscribers from the start, and welcome aboard to all of you who joined us in a year that began with the concluding Test of the 2024-25 Border Gavaskar Trophy and finished with the hot mess in Melbourne.

Et Al headed off for what turned out to be an eventful trip to Sri Lanka soon after the BGT series, then found our way to Lord’s for the World Test Championship Final, before slipping into something more comfortable for three one-sided Tests in the Caribbean.

And then the Bazballers arrived in Perth.

Without our loyal subscribers, we would not have been able to make the effort to get to so many far-flung places, so we thank you for that. Actually being there, when so much clickbait is generated from bedrooms and data bunkers, remains important. You can phone it in all you like from the lesser formats, but a Test match demands respect, and that means showing up.
