Australian selectors get funky before first Test

Looks like Australia has shown its hand even before Cricket Et Al got to Galle for Wednesday’s first Test match of the Warne-Muralitharan trophy.

Steve Smith all but confirmed that Travis Head will open with Usman Khawaja as the Et Al tour bus was making its way to the venue from Colombo on Tuesday.

Sam Konstas looks to have been put on ice while there are suggestions that Josh Inglis, who is considered an outstanding player of spin, will come into the side.

Konstas batted with the squad’s supernumerary players late Tuesday suggesting he knows his fate.
