Very diplomatic on your summation of dealing with Thommo, Pete. All credit to him for committing his time for a wonderful cause. This can't be questioned. But I've been to an event where Thommo was the key guest. It would have been more appropriate that the event was a fundraiser for a One Nation candidate. But it wasn't. We left early. He was, however, a very effective, unique fast bowler for his country in his day!
A vacationing and usually mild mannered friend has gone all Sweary Mary objecting to Fleming's appointment. He didn't go into detail, so I will wait until he returns to join our crowd at The Oval before finding out more.
