New Pod Ep: No Action
So when do they privatise the BBL again?
Pete and Gideon keep track of the post-Australian T20 World Cup, the Australian women’s series with India, the mystery surrounding the privatisation of the Big Bash League, and the imprisonment of Imran Khan. Also: who exactly is grass roots cricket? And: Brockmire or Derry Girls?

Nice to see Gideon with his Wire T shirt, presumably in recognition of South Africa chasing down a target of 154 against Zimbabwe
Unless Statsguru is wrong, this week's test match will be the 154th Womens Test? https://stats.espncricinfo.com/ci/engine/stats/index.html?class=8;filter=advanced;orderby=start;size=200;template=results;type=aggregate;view=results .
It will be Australia's 81st test and India's 42nd: https://stats.espncricinfo.com/ci/engine/stats/index.html?class=8;filter=advanced;orderby=start;size=200;template=results;type=team.
Prior to the merger of Men's and Women's cricket organisations both domestically and internationally in 2005 there were 125 test played in the 70 years following the inaugural test at Wantage Road in 1934. Since the merger of men's and women's cricket there have only been 28 tests played in 21 years.
1934-2004: There were 1.78 tests women's test played a year on average (and remember that includes 6 years of world war two impacting cricket, if you remove those years it's 1.95 tests a year played in the 64 available years).
2005- present: 1.4 tests a year.
The women's game is in many ways the future as it's the cricket that will be put on by boards where they seek to spend as little as possible in order to get the greatest impact.
