New Pod Ep: State of Emergency
Anyone for an omnishambles?
Pete and Gid catch up on Australian cricket's huge privatisation bust up, as consensus collapses about the way forward for the Big Bash League and the game's capital needs. Can the states kiss and make up, or will life never be the same? An emergency pod for desperate times.

That AFR article by Nikhil Kulkarni was weird. The main point was if you don't sell to IPL owners then the BBL won't be of 'global relevance'.
"The real decision is whether the BBL becomes part of the global network that defines world cricket, and on what terms. That decision matters beyond the boardroom. Fans deserve a league that is connected to the global game, not isolated from it. Players deserve the visibility and opportunity that only a connected league can provide"
The idea that fans want, nay deserve, a league that serves as a feeder into the IPL seems wholly unconvincing.
Top flight analysis. Cormac would approve, & probably concur.
