Ben Stokes has confirmed that, yes, England are doubling down and will bring more of the last day in Brisbane to Adelaide.

Jofra Archer was widely criticised for bringing his best to the second Test when it was all but done. The gifted England quick was mocked to his face by captain Steve Smith and taunted from the commentary box by former captain Ricky Ponting at the time, but his own skipper said the bowler’s fastest spell for the series was a template for what we will see when the third Test begins in Adelaide on Wednesday.
Smith, who belted the England bowler for a series of boundaries after their exchange, and who had survived 220 deliveries without being dismissed by the quick, said after the session that he was expecting Archer to go up a gear every time he came out to bat.
