I don’t like being controversial. It’s not really what I’m about. But as I sit here in my daughter’s kitchen in South London, I fear I have to be true to myself and just say it. So here goes … England versus India in 2025 was the greatest series that I’ve ever photographed. There, I’ve said it.
Not that I can remember all of it. My brain is full. I’ve sent 2208 images during this series including pictures from training sessions and of course matches. 2208 pictures over just 48 days which is an average of 46 images per day.
It’s been busy. I need to get to the ground early, prepare cameras, liaise with officials, mix my Vimto drink (other cordials are available). I can say though that I’ve loved every minute of it. People often say I’ve the best job in the world, and you know something? They’re absolutely spot on.
