At the second break at the MCG today, a music stage was mounted by a limber figure in a cap whom I momentarily mistook for Raygun. Well, I thought, this could be interesting. I imagined the c-crowd striking b-girl poses, complete with mass kangaroo hop. In fact, the talent turned out to be G Flip, who identifies as a musician, but who rather struggled to serenade a ground four-fifths empty, without much help from fireworks and flame machines that were at least incongruous in broad daylight.
