Gideon, I have noticed in your Substack output, you give us one word, almost one word per written piece that I have to look up. It's never usually more than one, but it's there - every time. The word is often well placed, perfectly used but so obscure that I need to look it up. In an article about Cricket Victoria it was abrogate, in a recent one about Kane Williamson it was abjuring, in yesterdays about the Modi Nayar spat it was quiescence and today you used sessile. Gideon: is this deliberate - to use one word per piece you know the masses will read, shrug and move on?
I did cadge sessile from a Gordon Burn novel I read a few years ago, Adrian, but I actually use quiescence a bit, and probably too often. Abjure and abrogate are old faves too. Glad to know you're reading closely!
I dont see any value in Victoria being at the bleeding edge of privatisation. At best, we might iron out the bugs for the other states (like a software upgrade). eg the migration from the myCricket Platform to PlayHQ. At worst it could be like the RealSport system where ResultsVault proved to be the superior choice and it seemed a lot of time, effort and money was wasted.
Greenberg has to go. He earns the big bucks for being the most responsible executive officer in CA and it has all turned to horse manure on his watch. His credibility is shot, which makes his position untenable. Time to go, Todd.
I went to listen to the podcast and was greeted with base feminist agitprop. Please, I know you need advertisers but seriously? The DV hoax has had an outrageous effect on society throughout the west, is responsible for the wholesale corruption of the courts, platoons of fatherless children, every social pathology under the sun, and the butchering of due process, courtesy of juryless conviction mills. If you doubt me, check on Dr Stephen Baskerville, one of the world's pre-eminent academics. And if you see any of my children, don't say hello or they'll throw me in jail. Again. That's the state of play in the feminist controlled country we're belabouring under.
Bit Like Donald Trump attempting his old fashioned real estate developer standover tactics on the world stage and having it *shocking* fail, Todd needs to appreciate that once you go from poacher to gamekeeper suddenly life is a lot closer to 0 sum.
If we didn't have enough evidence that some of the prominent people involved in this are out of their depth, this latest clumsy attempt to railroad the process using the Victorian board completely blowing up ought to be the straw that broke the camels back. They should resign, but i suspect they won't.
Have WA and Tasmania got cold feet and decided to let the Renegades sell first?
Before yesterday's meeting all the word was that the Scorchers and Hurricanes were going to sell minority stakes at the same time as Victoria was to offload the Renegades.
But all the reports yesterday made no mention of that and used phrases like:
"Once those conditions are met, Cricket Victoria is cleared to market-test the value of the Melbourne Renegades."
and "It is then expected that Cricket Victoria would be the first state to go to market."

In your June 10 article titled Pisspur you used Forgeddaboudit - thats really hard to find in the dictionary (!)
In fact: https://idioms.thefreedictionary.com/forgedaboudit
Can you obtain a copy at all good bookshops ?
I look them up when I need to ...
Never too old to learn !!

Victoria and NSW each have two teams. They probably had a game of two-up to decide which one would provide the guinea pig.

Should have just called Peter V'landys for a reference.

That will be programmatic advertising, Jack. We have nothing to do with it, except insofar as it runs on all Diamantina podcasts.
In that case Gideon, you're all forgiven!

Just trying to read between the lines.
