Perhaps another way to describe Cricket et al’s Substack ranking status might be “The leading cricket focused Substack” rather than merely “13th on the Substack sports list”.
Whilst acknowledging that you are of journalistic persuasion, with marketing chops well down the list of possible skill sets, even a mere tradey like myself might have grasped the opportunity for a little less self effacing promotion.
GH, just a polite heads up that non-descriptive links like ‘here’ or ‘click here’ aren’t very accessible to blind and vision impaired readers who use assistive technologies like text to voice screen readers. Dan, thanks for sharing such a constructive article. I’m about to purchase a Cricket Et Al subscription for my partner as a gift. He is totally blind and was a member of the Australian Blind Cricket team for 6 years and is coming up to 10 years in the NSW Blind Cricket team. Simple changes of the kind you have walked us through, will make the joys of Cricket Et Al more accessible to cricket lovers with disability. And, who knows, with some good promotion through blind and vision impaired community networks, the Cricket Et Al ranking may be #13 with a bullet 😊🙌.
Gideon, Pete and Sam - Dan’s advice is perfect! I’m sure Vision Australia can also provide assistance. And if you are looking to cover some great cricket post-Ashes, the National Cricket Inclusion Championships are in Perth from Jan 12 to 17. There will be at least a couple of people wearing the Usman 232!

Thanks, Sally!
Not complaining - he says, basically more or less complaining - but mine definitely renewed at $120 from being an early subscriber
