Re Jacks and his regular drag-downs; not too surprising when you learn (from Andy Zaltsmann on TMS, so fairly reliable I think) that in the last 3 years he has bowled only just over 250 overs in first class cricket. Surely Root would be a better option for those overs than Jacks?

Yep, I thought that myself yesterday. Root bowls acceptable offies and certainly no worse than Jacks.
